Internet Applications
There are many types of internet applications. Following are some of the types of applications I have experience with.

- Applications that have both a client and server modes that communicate using TCP/IP

Serial Communications Applications
Many devices communicate with computers via the computers serial port. It is often useful to create custom applications to use this interface. I have written applications that interface with the following devices.
- GPS Receivers (by Garmin)
- Programmable Thermostats (by HAI)
- Caller ID capable modems
- Systems that use tradional TTY terminal interfaces
- Call detail recording devices used with PBX telephone systems (NorTel)

Novell LAN Administration
The US Postal Service has the largest Novell-based wide area network. For five years, I performed the following tasks on one server of the local area network.
- User and group administration using several versions of the NW Admin application
- Printer installation and configuration of the servers and queues
- Backup job administration using the Computer Associates Arcserve application

Nortel Meridian Telephone Set Administration
For five years, I performed much of the adminstration on a Meridian PBX using the TTY console including the following tasks.
- Adds, moves, and changes of type 500, 2006, 2008, and 2616 telsets.
- Use of the Nortel MAT6 software application
- Custom programming using Visual Basic to interface with the PBX to facilitate certain tasks
- Physical connection of telsets
- Documentation of existing cabling systems in databases and drawings
